Small-batch knives, built by hand in a shed in the woods of Maine.
How It Started
Walker Knife Co. kicked off in 2020 with one mission—make a river knife that could handle whatever a guide or paddler could throw at it. We know what that takes because we spent over a decade working as professional river guides, relying on our gear day in and day out. That first knife, tested and beat on in real-world conditions, became the one that put us on the map. Since then, we’ve added hunting knives to the mix, carrying the same “build it right or don’t build it at all” mindset.
The Dream
Right now, it’s just us out here in the shed, but we’ve got bigger plans. We want to create good jobs right here in rural Maine—adding to the community that’s already thriving on outdoor culture. We want to keep this work in the place that inspires it, and build something that lasts.
Why Small-Batch
We make knives in small batches so we can put our hands on every single one. No assembly lines, no shortcuts—just careful, precise work from start to finish. That’s how you get something that feels right in your hand and holds up in the field.
Rooted Here
We’re part of the community we’re building for. We run the same rivers, hunt the same woods, and we’re proud to back events that keep Maine’s outdoor heritage alive—like the Maine Whitewater Championship, which we founded over a decade ago.
Where We’re Headed
Every knife that leaves this shed is another step toward building a legacy Maine brand—one built on quality, community, and a deep respect for the wild places that keep us coming back. Take one with you, and you join the story we’re writing.
