Walker Knife Co Shed in Snowy Forest

Wyman Township, Maine.

Born in a Shed.

How It Started

Walker Knife Co.® was founded in 2020 with one mission: make a river knife that could handle whatever a guide or paddler could throw at it. We know what that takes because we spent over a decade working as professional river guides, relying on our gear day in and day out. When things go sideways on the water, your knife isn't just a tool. It's insurance.

That first knife, tested and beat on in real-world conditions by working guides, became the one that put us on the map. Since then, we've added hunting knives to the lineup, carrying the same "build it right or don't build it at all" mindset into every design. Every pattern comes from actual field experience, not a drawing board.

Small-Batch, Built in Maine

Right now, Walker Knife Co. is a small operation run out of a shed in western Maine. Every knife gets our hands on it. Small batches, no shortcuts, no assembly lines. Just careful, precise work from start to finish using the finest steels available (including MagnaCut, one of the best blade steels on the market). That's how you get something that feels right in your hand and holds up in the field. Each knife is inspected, tested, and backed by our No-Nonsense Transferable Lifetime Warranty, because we stand behind every one we ship.

Trusted by Professionals

These knives are carried by river guides, hunters, and outdoor professionals who can't afford gear failure. Not weekend warriors. People whose safety and livelihood depend on reliable tools. When they choose Walker Knife Co., it's because they know we've been there and we build accordingly.

Rooted in This Place

Walker Knife Co. is part of the community it's building for. We run the same rivers, hunt the same woods, and we're proud to support the events and traditions that keep Maine's outdoor heritage alive. We founded the Maine Whitewater Championship over a decade ago, and that same commitment to this place runs through every knife that leaves the shop.

The long-term goal is to create good jobs right here in rural Maine, keeping this work in the place that inspires it, and building something that lasts.

Where We're Headed

Every knife that ships is another step toward building a legacy Maine brand, one built on quality, community, and a deep respect for the wild places that keep us coming back. Take one with you, and you become part of what we're building.
